We encourage you to recommend, attend, and review events; submit written work to our blog; and join the community on this website.
Submissions Guidelines
To pitch individual articles to our editors, please submit your ideas or drafted pieces to Grace Oller (grace.oller@nyu.edu) and McKenna Quatro Johnson (mlq5239@nyu.edu).
We will consider your submission and respond within two weeks to confirm its inclusion in the blog. Our editors will provide suggestions and will help with copyediting as needed.
What should I submit?
We are interested in exhibition and event reviews; interviews; opinion pieces; pithy and thoughtful stories or accounts (of your research trips, involvement with exhibitions, internships, thoughts on IFA lectures, investigations of an object currently on view, etc.). Articles should range from about 500 to 1500 words, depending on the topic.
We are not interested in academic papers; conference abstracts; or (excessively) nepotistic reviews. If your idea or piece is not quite right for our blog, we will be happy to discuss other options for submission with you.
You can submit via email here.
Columnists
If you are interested in making a regular writing commitment, we invite you to pitch your idea for a column. Columnists will write about a topic of particular interest at least once a month. Please email us to discuss column ideas.
Alumni Updates
We invite Institute alumni to send us updates on their professional accomplishments or ideas for posts. We are always looking to hear about life post-IFA, and to keep our graduates connected with current students.
